Your Guide to a Fulfilling Career Beyond the Bedside
I remember the days when I was just tired of being tired. The long hours left me too exhausted to enjoy my hobbies, and the constant fight against depression and anxiety took a toll on me. I masked it with a smile, but those who knew me well could see the decline. The joy I once found in dancing and exercising faded away, and I found myself questioning my career path.
My journey into nursing began with a desire to go into informatics, but I quickly realized how competitive and limited the opportunities were. A coworker saw something in me that I hadn’t yet recognized - my potential in data analytics and tech. He told me it was a field where I could thrive, earn well, and even have the flexibility to travel. At first, I hesitated; going back to school for a new dream felt daunting. But the idea lingered, especially as I explored various nursing specialties and proved to myself that I could excel in areas others said were off-limits for new grads.
The turning point came when I accepted a remote triage nurse role while retaking a statistics class to strengthen my application for PA or medical school. Despite everyone pushing me towards Nurse Practitioner school, my heart wasn’t in it. I kept thinking about those conversations with my coworker, and how much I enjoyed statistics. Then, doors began to fly open for programming and cybersecurity. I felt pulled into that direction.
As I delved deeper into tech, I realized the endless possibilities for innovation and improvement in healthcare and marketing through data and technology. This realization re-ignited a passion in me to help others... especially those who, like my younger self, are unsure of their career path.
I empower nurses to achieve a life they love, with a balance that allows them to care for themselves as well as others. Work-life balance is not just a dream; it’s possible. Nurses deserve respect, fair pay, and the freedom to enjoy their lives outside of work. You’re not a superhero. You’re a superhuman. Heroes may not need rest, but humans do. You deserve a break, and I’m here to help you find it.
With that being said, are you ready for a change? Keep scrolling!
